SYNOPSIS：

Liu Zhengguang is a talented and honest young man from a rural area with a knack for table tennis. With his sharp "chopping" technique, he caught the attention of Wang Binghui, a talent scout for the Yong'an Sports Commission who was actively recruiting table tennis players. He was invited to represent the county team in competitions. Despite his father's strong desire for him to join the military, Liu's passion for table tennis prevailed. His attempts to obstruct Liu's involvement in the sport were in vain, and instead, Liu secretly arranged to marry Ma's daughter, Cui Cui.

Driven by his dream of table tennis, Liu sneaked into the Yong'an Sports Center, where he met Xu Qian, the female team captain, along with teammates Du Jianhua and Sun Shaojie. This marked the beginning of Liu Zhengguang's lifelong journey in table tennis. Faced with the challenges of the era and life, Liu progressed from an unknown player to the provincial team's training camp, the national team, and from playing "wild ball" to national competitions and international tournaments.

Throughout the changing times, the destinies of Liu Zhengguang, his teammates, family, and fellow villagers evolved. The drama vividly portrays the remarkable years of several table tennis players from the late 1950s to the 1980s, depicting the struggles of a generation of national athletes dedicated to their country.
